Trends and Opportunities to Elevate The Cyber-Maritime Security Nexus in the Indo-Pacific
In March 2022, ASPI released a Special Report that looked at the cyber-maritime security nexus as an area of opportunity to strengthen international cooperation in maritime security.
In the report, we touched on four areas: cybersecurity and the maritime industry’s digital transformation; emerging technologies in the maritime domain; digital enablers of maritime supply chains; and security of marine-based digital infrastructure.
In this presentation, I will draw on these areas to reflect on bigger picture trends in international security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, with a focus on maritime and cyber issues, and explore opportunities for further international collaboration, cybersecurity governance and capacity building.
