Risk Management Practical Exercise

Effective, pragmatic risk management is essential to tackling the challenges facing the maritime industry, cyber security presents the global maritime community new and ever changing issues to adapt to. Many existing risk management practises provide effective steers on how to; manage, mitigate or transfer our developing cyber risks. However, the changing nature of our industry means that legacy equipment will becomes increasingly out of date and/or unsupported, new IT and OT will become increasingly automated, and, the range of services or supply chains will get longer.

This practical exercise will be presented by the UK Department for Transport, supported by the Risk Management Working Group. It will facilitate a discussion with all participants on the principles of risk management in the global maritime community, through presentations and table based exercises it is hoped that delegates will have the opportunity to learn from fellow delegates and support improved understanding of the global challenges facing our industry.


This outcomes of this session will feed into subsequent sessions taking place throughout the conference. It is also hoped that delegates have the opportunity to learn from each other and develop their networks.
