Director of Maritime Security Policy, Department of Home Affairs

Jodie Lewis is the Director of Maritime Security Policy within the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre. The Centre is Australia’s all hazards critical infrastructure regulator and supports critical infrastructure owners and operators to understand the risk environment and meet their regulatory
requirements for the shared benefit of all Australians.

Jodie is responsible for administering the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 and advising on maritime security issues, managing Australia’s contribution to international maritime security through the International Maritime Organization and other international organisations, and leading co-designed maritime transport security reforms to deliver best practice results for industry and government.

Jodie has over 20 years’ experience in the Australian Public Service, across a number of agencies and offices of Members of Parliament. As an experienced policy professional, Jodie has delivered a range of complex and varied national policy reforms including the development and implementation of the Australian Government’s Civil Maritime Security Strategy. Additionally, Jodie has led several national initiatives to support social cohesion and community resilience.
